The experiment based on Jinxiang garlic, researches the light influence on garlic seeding growth, pigment content, enzyme activity and nutritive quality, aiming to explore the scientific and reasonable method of planting garlic seeding then improve its yield and nutritive quality.Research is as follows:1. The experiment sets five light qualities including red, blue, red/blue(7/1), red/blue(3/1) and white(as comparison), meanwhile, set big(6.25±0.15g), middle(4.00±0.15g) and small(1.85±0.1g) garlic cloves while make them sprout and research the influence of light quality and garlic size on garlic seeding. The research shows that the number of fresh weight, dry weight and the comparison of fresh and dry seeding’s weight is largest which sets in the white light when the garlic cloves are same, while the plant is tallest in the red light. The big is the best for growth of garlic fresh weight, dry weight, height, cauloid thick and length, and the comparison number is largest for the small. Under the red light treatment, chlorophyll a, total chlorophyll content and carotinoid content in the seeding are all to the highest point while the blue light and white light treatment are better for Chlorophyll b increase. The pigment contents of small are better than big and middle, and the difference between the big and middle is not obvious. The seeding’s SOD and cat activity is the best under the red/blue(7/1) than any other light qualities.The POD is the best under red light treatment. For the garlic cloves treatment, the small is slightly lower. MDA content is highest under the blue light. The root activity is the best under the red light. It’s clear that the MDA is the most poisonous for the blade and the root’s ability of transporting water is the worst under the blue light. The contents of soluble protein, free amino acid and vitamin C in seeding are the best under the blue light.2. The experiment sets three light periods, and those are 8h/d, 12h/d and 16h/d. Meanwhile, set big(6.25±0.15g), middle(4.00±0.15g) and small(1.85±0.1g) garlic cloves while make them sprout and research the influence of light period and garlic size on garlic seeding. The research shows that 16h/dis can promote garlic’s aerial growth and the dry substance accumulation. The pigment content is higher under the 16h/d, which explains that the appropriate extension of light in favor of the garlic’s pigment formation.3. The experiment sets four light intensities, respectively 200 μmol·m-2·s-1, 300μmol·m-2·s-1,400μmol ·m-2·s-1 and 500μmol·m-2·s-1 and research their influence on the garlic growth and nutritional quality. The research shows that with the light intensity increasing, the out growth of garlic seeding has a significant reduction, the chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b and total chlorophyll has a downtrend, but chlorophyll/b is on the rise. The Carotenoid decreases as the chlorophyll content. The SOD, POD and CAT rise up and MDA reduces gradually. The root activity and pigment improve step by step as the light enhances.4. The experiment sets six light qualities including red, blue, yellow, red/blue/yellow(7/2/1), red/blue(7/2) and white(as comparison), researching the influence of light quality on garlic seeding. The research shows that the outgrowth is the largest under the yellow light. The chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b and flaudio-videoonoid contents are all the highest. The SOD activity is the highest under the red/blue/yellow(7/2/1) light. The POD and CAT activity are the highest under the red light. The MDA content is the highest under the blue light. Under the yellow light, the garlic seeding’s root activity is the strongest. The soluble sugar content of garlic is the highest under the red light. The garlic allicin is the same to the soluble sugar content. The variation trends of soluble protein, free amino acid and vitamin C are similar.
