Nutritionists confirmed that supplement high vitamin C that come from fruits and vegetables can reduce morbidity of the cardiovascular disease, cancer and neurodegenerative diseases. The awareness of nutritional meals of constantly reinforce with the life level of people is increasing. To explore the highest vitamin C of tomato(Lycopersicum esculentum) in which conditions and clear the change of the vitamin C content in cherry tomato fruits, relationship with oxidative decomposition enzyme activity and transformation mechanism has important practical significance, it can also provide important theoretical basis for improving quality of fruit and vegetable. The effect of different cultivation condition(greenhouse and outdoor) and soil types(Lou soil and loessial soil) on quality, yield, photosynthesis, soil respiration was studied on the base of the earth-pillar experiment. Furthermore, the soil physicochemical properties( including organic matter, total nitrogen, available nitrogen, total phosphorus, available p, available k, pH index)was conducted to provide theoretical basis for selecting advantage soil and suitable culture condition and improve the vitamin C content of cherry tomato. The main conclusions are as follows:(1) The effect of cultivation condition and soil types on vitamin C and related enzymes. The results showed that vitamin C content and PPO activity were higher in Lou soil than in loessial soil under the same cultivation condition, AAO and APX activities was opposite with them. Vitamin C content and PPO activity was better in outdoor than in greenhouse under the same of the soil types and AAO activity was opposite with them. The vitamin C content was significant higher in Lou soil in outdoor than other treatments during the growing seasons and the difference between outdoor Lou soil and other treatments were significant at p<0.05. Correlation analysis indicated that AAO and PPO were negatively correlated with ascorbic acid content, but APX activity was not correlated with ascorbic acid content. Therefore, outdoor Lou soil was optimum treatment for preserving high ascorbic acid content and low AAO、APX and PPO activities.(2) Cultivation condition and soil types could be significantly affected with the quality of cherry tomato. Results showed that from early fruiting stage to later fruiting stage, the soluble sugar and soluble solids of tomato fruits decreased, soluble protein increased. However, organic acids in cherry tomato fruits decreased from early fruiting stage to minimum value at fruit flourish stage and then increased at later fruiting stage. The quality of cherry tomato was higher in Lou soil than in loessial soil and in outdoor was better than in greenhouse. However, open-Lou soil is the best choice for improving cherry tomato quality.(3) Cultivation condition and soil types had an influence on the yield and biomass of cherry tomato. The results showed yield of cherry tomato increased firstly then decreased during the growing seasons to minimum value at early fruiting stage. However, yield of cherry tomato was highest in loessial soil in outdoor. Biomass of shoots was highest in loessial soil in greenhouse, what’s more, biomass of roots, root-shoot ratio and yield were highest in Lou soil in greenhouse.(4) The research found that net photosynthetic rate decreased firstly then increased during the growing seasons from early fruiting stage to ideal value and soil respiration was decreased. Net photosynthetic rate was highest in Lou soil in outdoor and lowest in loessial soil in greenhouse. Soil respiration was in contrast with net photosynthetic rate. At the same time, soil temperature could be significantly affected with soil respiration. Correlation analysis indicated that soil respiration was correlated with soil temperature. What’s more, soil respiration increased with the increase of soil temperature.Considering the actual production and utility of cherry tomato, by quality analysis and evaluation of cherry tomato we found that the Loessial soil was benefit for the edible quality and yield, outdoor cultivation was beneficial to the improvement of the quality of cherry tomato. Therefore, in Lou soil in outdoor was optimum treatment for preserving high ascorbic acid(low AAO、APX and PPO activities) content and net photosynthetic rate and low soil respiration. While in Lou soil in greenhouse is the best choice for improving cherry tomato yield.
