Riparian plants have many advantageous, including revetment, water purification, soil and water conservation, blocking filters, ecological restoration, landscaping, improving the environment, climate regulation and so on. Plants measures are helpful to ecological construction, the restoration of river health and shaping the river landscape, which are irreplaceable.Considering the shortage of trees species for landscaping on the Tianjin coastal saline-alkaline land, I used the method of field investigation, literature survey and control experiment to select some salt-tolerant plants preliminarily, based on the land utilization, topography, hydrology, climatic conditions and soil salinity of the planning scheme area. Firstly, I summarized the evaluation of plants greening in saline. Secondly, we investigated and analyzed the afforestation survival rate of salt-tolerant species in the riparian zones, salt-tolerant species were filtered out and tested in saline. Based on the vegetation investigation of the coastal saline and the test results, some plants can be used as the landscaping plants of the riparian zone. According to water resistance, drought tolerance, salt tolerance, ornamental, solid shore slope capability, the ability to purify water and economic value of plant, three rivers plants designs were completed, which were focused on economic value, tolerance and landscape benefits respectively.The evaluation Criteria of the AHP include four aspects, community composition and structure, resistance index, community landscape ecological benefits and the project investment. Based on the four aspects,15 specific impact indicators were selected,including community level, plant species composition, salinity resistance, poor resistance, drought resistance\submergence tolerance, pest resistance, cold resistance, ornamental features, solid earth, purifying function, economic function, community building investment and the latter management fees. Further I worked out the evaluation of the three plants design using AHP.
