Plant functional traits reflect the responses of plants to the environment, when studying interactions of plant functional traits and responses to environmental factors will help better understanding coordination between plant growth and environment. Functional diversity is the key factor affecting the ecosystems and the environment. In July and August 2013, along the latitudinal gradient,we had chosen five natural broad-leaved Korean pine forest plots to study the plant functional traits and functional diversity. We used Pearson correlation analysis, variance analysis (LSD multiple range), as well as analysis DPS to explore the correlation between plant functional traits, and to explore the differences in different life forms of plant functional traits and plant functional traits and functional diversity in response to environmental factors. The study showed that:(1) The functional traits showed a good correlation in the leaf and fine root. The LDMC in tree, shrub and herb have a significant negative correlation with SLA; and the RDMC and N, and P have significantly negative relationship; the RDMC of 1-2 level roots and 3-5 level roots have significantly positive relationship. In all of life form leaves and fine roots, N and P have significantly positive relationship. N and N:P have significantly positive relationship, P and N:P have significantly negative relationgship, and the relationship between P and N:P is better than the relationship between N and N:P.(2) The contents of N and P in the different life forms have significant difference, and the N:P was no significant difference in the different life forms. Other physical properties in the different life forms have distinct differences.(3) The N and P contents between leaf and fine root has a significant positive correlation; and the order of N and P content is:leaf>1-2-level roots> 3-5-level roots.(4) The regular pattern of the N content in leaves and fine roots of tree, shrub and herb response to the latitude is basically same, the N content increases with increasing latitude; with the latitude increasing, the P content of tree and shrub increase first and then decreased, the P of herb concentrations increased with increasing latitude. LT of tree, shrub, grass decreased with increasing latitude; the LDMC of tree and shurb variation is basically same, it decreased with increasing latitude, the LDMC of herbs with increasing latitude increased first and then decreased. The RDMC of tree and shrub with with increasing latitude increased first and then decreased, the RDMC of herbs have no significant variation regular pattern with latitude change.(5) The relationship between functional traits and environmental is different in the different life forms.(6) In this study, the functional diversity latitude gradient did not show some regular pattern of variation. The environment factors have different influence on tree, shrub and herb.(7) The correlatin between biological diversity and functional diversity is different in different life forms. The relationship between functional diversity and plant functional traits is also different. |
