This study systematically explores the resources of Phytoseiidae in Gansu province. Thedominant species are screened out and feed on the Aleuroglyphus ovatus,raising by the waterplate method. The author has studied the biological characteristics of this mite, therelationship between temperature and development duration and established the life table ofexperimental population, providing the basis for the mass propagation and releasing of mites.The main research results are as follows:1. taxonomy on the family Phytoseiidae in all areas of Gansu province, there are3subfamily6genera30species were identified and described. of which, the male of threespecies were firstly described for the first time, they are Phytoseius (Dubininellus) huaxiensis,Paraseiulus soleiger, Typhlodromu(sAnthoseius)datongensis;and12species are new recordsfrom Gansu province, they are Amblyseius (Neoseiulus) imbricatus, Amblyseius (Neoseiulus)cucumeris, Amblyseius (Neoseiulus) barkeri, Amblyseius (Neoseiulus) changbaiensis,Amblyseius (Neoseiulus) morii, Amblyseius (Neoseiulus) heterochaetus, Amblyseius(Neoseiulus) oguroi, Amblyseius (Neoseiulus) theae, Amblyseius (Amblyseius) largoensis,Okiseius xizangensis, Euseius simileus, Phytoseius (Pennaseius) minutes Narayanan,Amblyseius (Neoseiulus) imbricatus and Euseius utilis. And Amblyseius (Neoseiulus)imbricatus are newly dominant species in Gansu province.2. The effects of temperature on the development duration of dominant species ofAmblyseius (Neoseiulus) imbricatus: It is proved that the length of development duration varyinversely as the temperature, namely, the higher the temperature is, the shorter thedevelopment duration will be in the experimental given temperature,which ranges from16to32℃and feed on Aleuroglyphus ovatus; It needs18.52d under the temperature16℃butonly5.35d under the condition of32℃. The development duration of Amblyseius (Neoseiulus)imbricatus shows some significant differences under different temperature conditions.Logistic model can well fit the temperature and the relationship between the developmentrates of all mites, the correlation coefficient—R of which is reached the extremely significantlevel. According to the direct optimal method of Li Dianmo, the starting developmenttemperature point of Amblyseius (Neoseiulus) imbricatus Corpus et Rimando is8.44℃, the effective accumulated temperature is142.08degrees.3. The life table of Amblyseius (Neoseiulus) imbricatus was ereced under the temperature16℃,20℃,24℃,28℃, and32℃. Three main parameters of the life table is R0、rmand λ,all reaches its maximum at28℃. They respective maximum are9.395,0.153,1.167; it takessecond place at the temperature of24℃and reaches its minimum at16℃. The change law isthat when the temperature is equal to or less than28℃or less, all the temperature ofparameter values increases along with the rise of temperature, when temperature is greaterthan or equal to28℃, all the temperature of parameter values decreases along with the rise oftemperature. Average generation cycle (T) reaches its maximum at24℃, the time is15.529dand its minimum time is10.482d at32℃. But the population doubling time (t) is the shortestat28℃,which is3.883d; The second shortest time is5.232d at24℃and the longest time is12.739d at16℃.
