Swine flu which is caused by the swine flu virus,is a serious respiratory disease affectingswine industry. Currently, the swine flu that occuring across Asia, the Americas, Europe, Africaand becoming common infectious disease in large-scale pig farms. Studies have shown that: Pigsare "mixer" to produce new influenza virus subtype by rearranging gene of human, avian andswine influenza viruses. So swine flu has far-reaching and particularly important public healthsignificance. But currently there is a lack of specific anti-influenza virus medicine. Using vaccineor medicine to prevent swine flu has great limitations. Chinese herbal medicine has a wealth ofresources and less harmful residues, less toxic side effects and it is difficult for pathogenic bacteriato have drug resistance. All of these advantages make lots of concern in the prevention andtreatment of disease. The purpose of this study was screening herbal medicines that can anti-swine influenza virus, and preliminary comparison of antiviral effect of different preparations of part of traditionalChinese medicine. Slecting nine raw materials herbal such as Lonicera japonica, Flos LoniceraeConfusae,Radix,Atractylodes chinensis(DC.)Koidz, using decoction method, boiling and alcoholprecipitation method, supercritical CO2extraction method to prepare10herbs preparations.Giving TCM decoction preparation, injection and extraction of the effectively product to the swineflu virus on the screening model of MDCK cells, using MTT assay to detect the results oftraditional Chinese medicine herb such as Atractylodes chinensis(DC.)Koidz in three differentmethods: contract virus before use drugs, use drugs before contract virus and mix the drugs withvirus2h before adding to the cells. And measured with their different formulations in vitro of anti-H3N2swine flu virus effects. The results showed that: besides Atractylodes chinensis(DC.)Koidz oil, the drug’s safeconcentration scope in0.1~1.95mg/mL, in which the highest safe concentration (TC0) is1.95mg/mL of Atractylodes chinensis(DC.)Koidz and jujube decoction; and the smallest safeconcentration (TC0) is0.77μg/mL of Atractylodes chinensis(DC.)Koidz oil. Half of toxicconcentrations medicine (TC50) of herbal medicines vary greatly, the largest of TC50isAtractylodes chinensis (DC.) Koidz decoction with28.66mg/mL, and the smallest is0.022mg/mL with the Atractylodes chinensis(DC.)Koidz oil. The results of antiviral drug effectshowed that: each herbal medicine has certain antiviral, in which Shangen decoction, Artemisia annua Mugwort decoction, Sophora decoction have a good comprehensive anti-viral effectbecause they both have suppression and blocking effect to SIV, they also have some influnce inthe inactivation.
