| Rice is one of the most important food crops in the world. However, food production has always been challenged by many factors with the continued growing of the population and reduction in areas for planting crops. Although chemical pesticides can control pests, but environmental issues and food safety issues caused by the chemical pesticides is also very serious. Host-plant resistance is the most effective and environment friendly approach to control the damage caused by insects. In present study,120rice lines were used to investigate leaffroller-resistances and planthopper-resistances under field conditions without spraying any insectcides,5types of transgenic insect-resistant Bt rice that included transgenic crylAb gene japonica rice (KMD2) and its control Xiushui11, transgenic cry1C or cry2A gene indica varieties (T2A-1and T1C-19, H1C and H2A) and their parental control IR72and MH63were used to assess their effects on the oviposition behavior of Chilo suppressalis under laboratory. The main contents are as follows:1. Investigation of rice lines resistances to stem borer under field conditionsIn2012, there were33rice lines damaged by stem borer, of which,16are japonica material and17are indica material. In2013,12rice lines damaged by stem borer, of which,5are japonica material and7are indica material. Indica rice may be more sensitive to rice stem borer than japonica Rice. The rice lines which grown in both2012and2013, Ningjing44, MH63, Heimi, Bing02-105, C418, Jiazao, T0308, Nanfengnuo, Xiushui110, kasalath, have not been damaged by rice stem borer. In this10rice lines,3are indica rice, thay are MH63, Heimi, kasalath, and the other7rice lines are japonica. Japonica rice may be high resistant to rice stem borer than indica rice.2. Investigation of rice lines resistances to planthopper under field conditionsIn2012, two indica rice,2428and Neng B, were more sensitive to planthopper than TN1, however, TNI was the most sensitive rice line in2013. Overall, japonica rice has a better resistance to planthopper than indica rice and indica rice is more sensitive.3. Effects of transgenic rice lines on the oviposition behavior of C. suppressalisH1C and MH63showed a significant attraction on the oviposition of C. suppressalis under laboratory compared with KMD2. But the laboratory results showed that C. medinalis adults did not significantly prefer to Bt rice or its control. |
