Diarrhea is one of the common clinical symptoms in pig herds. The diarrhea alwasy causes high lethality in piglets and decreased production ability in other pigs, and resulted in significant economic losses to pig farms. There are varies of causes can lead to diarrhea, including nutritional, toxic, bacterial, viral and parasitic factors. In order to investigate the virual infections in pigs showing clinical signs of Diarrhea, a total of303fecal samples were examined by using polymerase chain reaction (PCR)for detecting Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV), Porcine transmissible gastroenteritis virus (TGEV), Porcine pseudorabies virus (PRV), Porcine rotavirus (PoRV), and Porcine parvovirus (PPV).The results showed that both single viral infections and mixed infections of several viruses were all existence. In the case of the single infections, the highest positive rate was observed in PoRV, which was39.93%(121/303);27.72%(84/303) of the pigs were positive for PPV,; the PEDV and PRV contributed18.16%(55/303) and5.61%(17/303,) of the infections; none of the pigs was detected to be positive for TGEV. In mixed infections, the infections with PPV and PoRV were the highest, which reached10.89%(33/303); the mixed infection with PEDV+PoRV, PRV+PoRV, PEDV+PPV, PRV+PPV, PEDV+PRV were8.58%,(26/303),4.29%(,13/303),3.63%(,11/303),(0.99%,3/303), and0.66%(2/303), respectively. There were four (1.32%) pigs were PEDV, PPV, and PoRV positiveand two samples(0.66%) mixed infected with PRV, PPV and PoRV. In piglets, the the positive rate for PoRV was42.42%(70/165), PPVwas29.70%(49/165), PEDV was24.85%(41/165), and PRV was4.85%(8/165). The infections of the viruses in growing-finishing Pigs are as follows:41.38%(48/116) for PoRV,29.31%(34/116) for PPV,11.21%(13/116) for PEDV, and7.76%(9/116) for PRV.. There was only one adult pig infected with PEDV, and no infection with PRV, TGEV, PPV, or PoRV was found in adult pigs. In abortive and stillbirth fetuses, PoRV60.00%(3/5)and PPV (1/5,20.00%) infections were detected., The temporal analysis showed that the viruses infection rate were relatively higher in September and March than other months. Among the22cities,18of them were affected by either one of the five viruses or several of them together. In summary, the study proved that PoRV and PPV infections were commnly found in pigs showing clinical signs of diarrhea and piglets were of higher prevalences of the viruses than other pigs. The data abtained in this study provides useful supports for the disease control in the regions.
