In this paper, with alkaline soil as the object of the research in level terrace of HunHe of He Lin Ge Er county, experiment of planting corn was conducted in field after applying desulfurization gypsum to improving saline soil. Serial sampling before and after that the alkaline soil was improved with GPS and measuring its physical, chemical and biological indicators which reflect improved process and the effect of soil, then we start with effect assessment.The result shows that the improvement area of corn seedling emergence and yield increase respectively after area of the application of desulfurization gypsum compared with the control area. In particular, emergence rate increased from25%to85%;at the same time, yield increased from1334kg/ha to5000kg/ha In the first year and from1800kg/ha to7500kg/ha in the following year. Application of desulfurization gypsum on soil texture not only increases corn production, but influence the quality of a material that of change is not big,bulk density and porosity, which of the change range of bulk density and porosity is larger. Along with the soil bulk density decreased, soil bulk density of1.3~1.5g/cm3dropped to1.0g/cm3and porosity increased from45%to55%or so, so improved the soil that become porous was improved physical properties overall. Application of desulfurization gypsum on soil PH, reaction degree, nature of organic matter and salt has the effects of improving them significantly, which are lower than the control group including controls PH and alkalization degree. For example,soil PH fell to7.94from8.32of the original peak between0cm and20cm and fell to8.43from8.93of the original peak between20cm and40cm;as well, the alkaline degree high soil layer also decrease from the original31.0%to13.75%between0cm and20cm and from the original42.04%to17.56%between20cm and40cm.At the same time, salts in the soil also was changed larger, which content of sodium bicarbonate and sodium chloride decreased significantly, but calcium sulfate, sodium sulfate and calcium carbonate content increased significantly, which cause serious damage to plant growth and development of baking soda and chlorine into harm lighter bivalent salts. Nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium accumulation of corn plants were higher than control in different periods after application of desulfurization gypsum, which reached the maximum in mature period.
