Monitoring greenhouse environment parameters are an indispensable part of the precision agriculture. How to exploit all available potential of the soil and crop with an utmost, convenient and accurate measure the environment factors which can affect plant growth in a way of real time, give the growth and development of crop what it need and reduce the waste of agricultural materials at the same time, and decrease the consumption, increase profits, protect the quality of ecological environment is the meaning of greenhouse environment monitoring research and the themes of agricultural sustainable development. In recent years, with the rapid development of internet of things technology, a new approach which can connect the object to network, identification, management and control was proposed for monitoring of greenhouse environment parameters.The technology of wireless sensor network which integrate the sensor technology, wireless communication technology and computing technology can real-time monitor, collect and process the related informations in the regional of network. Technology of wireless sensor network which work for the sensing, wireless communication and information processing will undoubtedly become the development direction of greenhouse environment parameters monitoring technology.Aiming at the problems of traditional greenhouse environment monitoring systems such as complicated wiring, high cost, inflexible monitoring, and high energy consumption of previous wireless sensor networks(WSNs), this paper designed a WSN-based greenhouse environmental parameter monitoring system, constructed its hardware with a CC2530wireless sensor network chip, temperature and humidity sensor, soil moisture sensor and peripheral interface, compiled its underlying software by using the protocol stack of Z-Stack, and developed the PC software of greenhouse environment monitoring system based on a VB software platform.The system has realized the function which include real-time acquisition, transmission, storage and browsing of greenhouse environment parameters.Besides, this paper also verified and analysed the transmission characteristics of CC2530chip, energy consumption and the practicality and reliability of whole greenhouse environmental parameters monitoring system.The experimental results showed that: This system effective transmission distance of the nodes was60m when they were placed1.5m above the ground.A single node with two5th batteries could sustain the acquisition of greenhouse environmental parameter data for45d by without changed the new batteries.The system had high practicability and reliability.The system could accurately detect the temperature, humidity, and soil volumetric water content for greenhouse environment.The maximum error of measuring soil moisture content was4.8%, maximum error of measuring relative moisture was-1.8%and maximum error of measuring air temperature was-1.1%. Through the test and the actual operation, the results showed that the ZigBee WSN monitoring system of greenhouse environmental parameters had advantages which include high precision, low energy consumption, good robustness, low cost, flexible extension and convenient installation and so on.The system could be applied to general greenhouse conditions and be achieved the real-time, accurate and wireless monitoring function in greenhouse.
