As everyone known,75persent proportion of the earth is covered by water source,but the section of fresh water is only reached0.75, most of these were exist as solid, manyarea of the world have drinking water crisis. Agriculture is a large proportion of waterconsumption, in our country70percent of water is used for agriculture. So decreaseagriculture water cost and without reduce grain production can make a big difference tothe world water source. In the1970th the appearance of transgenic technology broughthope to optimize the natural resources of grain.Rice is one of the most important food crop of the world. Upland rice is mutated formrice, it can adapt to drought and arid lands, so planting upland rice can reduce the cost ofagriculture water and then enhance economic performance. This experiment transferredthe8704gene (a member of late embryogenesis abundant proteins) into the upland ricecells, and established a mature transformation system for upland rice. In the study we usedupland rice2as the original material, to achieve our transform by particle gun. Theexperimental results indicate that the status of the callus induced on NB medium wasbetter than that on MS medium. The optimum dosage of gold dust and plasmids were200μg/gun and1μg/gun separately. The suitable bombardment pressure andbombardment distance were1100psi and6cm.
