Biochar (Bc) is the term used to describe forms of pyrogenic carbon, and it is thought thatpoorly oxygenated plant components. Bc can be visualized as stacked layers of fused aromaticstructures. Because of its high resistance to thermal and chemical oxidation, Bc can beconsidered to be an important sink for carbon in soils and sediments, and may be a significantcontributor to the missing carbon sink in global carbon accounting. In recent years, Bc researchjust including quantitative extraction and structural characterization of Bc, and carbonadsorption graduate substances or pollutants in the environment of a particular element, andapplying Bc effect on plant growth. However, there are rarely studies on the Bc application effecton humic carbon, and this is precisely why the root cause of Bc effect on soil carbonsequestration, soil fertility, plant growth and the global carbon cycle. This paper has comparedthe content and character of molecular structure of soil organic carbon (SOC), humic acid (HA),fulvic acid (FA) and humin (Hu) in the pot experiment with plants, no plant incubationexperiments, field experiments and embedded experiments by humus composition modificationmethod, humus extraction method (recommended by IHSS) and characterize with modernscientific methods through dark brown soil, black soil and Nanjing paddy soil for the study. Results are as follow:The content of SOC increased with the amount of Bc application, anddid not change significantly with the time. The content of Hu increased with the amount of Bcapplication. An inflection point for the first year, the content of Hu firstly increased and thendecreased as the time advance, however, the maximum Bc application rate (48t ha-1) increaseswith time. HA and FA decreased with the amount of Bc application. An inflection point for thefirst year, the content of HA firstly increased and then decreased as the time advance. Thesorption capacity of Bc to FA increased with the time. PQ did not change significantly. The ΔlgK of HA reduced after Bc application when incubation for18months. The Element compositionanalysis showed that H/C molar ratio was reduced with the amount of Bc application, molecularcondensation degree was increased, O/C molar ratio was reduced and oxidation was decreasedwith the increase of the amount of Bc application. The infrared spectrum showed that moleculararomatic carbon and aliphatic chain hydrocarbons carbon increased with the increase of theamount of Bc application. Our results indicate that molecular structure of HA is complicatedafter Bc application.
