| Arbuscular mycorrhiza is a symbiotic association between plant roots and arbuscularmycorrhizal (AM) fungi in soil. It can establish symbiotic relationships with the roots of over80%higher plants, promote the roots of host plant to absorb water and nutrients, improveyield and quality of host plant. For the past few years, AM fungi have become a new way toimprove the yield and quality of cultivated Chinese herbal medicines, stable efficacy andsource of drug.Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi is a perennial herb from Labiate family, root usedmedicinally. It can heat-clearing and damp-drying drug, antibiotic, hemostasis, tocolyticeffects. In recent years, with the increase demand in market and the rapid failure of wildliferesources of Scutellaria baicalensis, the cultivated Scutellaria baicalensis become majorsource of Chinese crude drug. But the behind of production and cultivation techniques andextensive management, resulting in decrease of yield and quality of Scutellaria baicalensis.Unreasonable use of fungicide cause high pesticide residues and endanger human body health.Unreasonable use of fertilizer not only cause the deterioration of soil ecological environment, the quality down of Chinese herbal medicine, and cause environmental pollution very serious. Therefore, AM fungi can increase yield and quality of Scutellaria baicalensis, reducefertilizer amount and realize the sustainable utilization of resources and green agriculture.Pot experiments were conducted to study the effects of AM fungi on the growth andquality of Scutellaria baicalensis seedling under different fungicides and fertilization.Following is the main results:1. A good symbiotic relationship was formed between AM fungi and Scutellaria baicalensis. The different effect of AM fungi with fungicides, the inhibitory effects of Flusilazol on theAM fungi and growth of Scutellaria baicalensis were the greatest. Nitrogen level in the soilalso influence AM fungi. The best inoculation effect was the N application level of0.08-0.12gN/kg soil.2. The results showed that AM fungi generally promoted the growth of host plant under thesame fungicide, but the effect of AM fungi had differences with the different fungicides.Under Benomyl, Difenconazole and Flusilazol inoculating with AM fungi could increasethe Scutellaria baicalensis’s dry weight, content of baicalin, and the contents of K, Ca, Mg and Zn of root. It were beneficial to the accumulation of nutritious substances, but had nosignificantly effect to Cu, Fe, Mn and Zn of shoot. Under the different fungicides, thecontent of K in shoot and Fe in root were significantly decreased while plant’s dry weight, total N, total P and baicalin had no significant inhibitory effect under Benomyl. The contentof total N, K in shoot, baicalin in root and Ca were significantly decreased underDifenconazole. Have no significantly effect on the mycorrhizal infection and dry weightunder Difenconazole. The content of total P, baicalin, K and Cu in shoot, total N, Ca, Znand Fe of root were significantly decreased under Flusilazol.3. Effects of AM fungi on Scutellaria baicalensis are different under different N-appliedlevels. AM fungi inoculation increase baicalin of root, K, Ca, Mg, Zn, Fe and Mn of root, which enhance photosynthesis and growth of Scutellaria baicalensis. The contents of Mnin roots was lower. But content of Cu when the symbiosis between AM fungi andScutellaria baicalensis in short time were opposite to a long time, it may be due to theantagonism with other components. Symbiotic effect was the best of AM and Scutellariabaicalensis when N application was0.08-0.12gN/kg soil. |
