Solar panels are important energy supply for satellites, which is very important for the safe and stable operation of satellite working. Since many accidents happened in the history because of solar panels. To analyze situations and optimized in the design, is one of the effective methods to reduce the fault. This article is mainly aimed at analyzing shadow upon solar panels, and provided reference for optimization design of the satellite.In this paper, coordinate transformation method was used to establish the incident rays and satellite orbit equation in geocentric inertial coordinate system. The angle between the sun and the panels was analyzed in three kinds of gesture. And three conditions of power generation was given by STK software simulation. The simulation results verified the correctness of the model.This article analyzed the satellite shadowed by earth through the establishment of the incoming light model. Then get the time length sheltered by earth. Matlab and STK was used to get the result. The last time of satellite shelter by earth was almost the same. This result can be used as a reference of satellite power battery capacity design.Light projection method was used to get the shade on the satellite panels of projection. The shadow area was analyzed in different situation. Matlab was used in this process. And the biggest shadow area of the year was given in result. This can provide reference for satellite size design of the panels.Theory and the analysis of computer simulation was unable to get the influence of shadow position. So robot platform was built. The robot kinematics was given. Based on the platform, the influence of shadow position was analyzed. And the IV curve was plot by the platform system. From the result, we can get the angle that PV curve change from one MPP to two MPPs.
