System simulation technology has been accompanied by the development and debugging of the equipment in the whole process in astronautics and defense industry fields. It is consisted of target temperature control system and its moving mechanism. It is mainly used in missile guidance simulation system and can complete the performance testing of missile guidance systems, including identifying and tracking. It is also applied to test performance of some systems under different environmental conditions, which is able to save money at the same time. However, accuracy and reliability of the device is directly related to the target simulation system to a certain degree. This paper summarizes the works of the target simulation system based on previous achievements of others, and focus on improving the control algorithms. What’s more, aiming at analyzing the sources of error of the system and compensate to make that the target simulation system with more accuracy come true.Firstly,the paper makes an analysis and summary of achievements in the area of HWIL, and points out the limitations of existing control strategies. Then we provide the control scheme and improve the control algorithms for the target temperature control system and target moving system, respectively. The next we set up the simulation by MATLAB Simulink and obtain a better results.Following that, the paper investigates the problems of error sources in target simulation system in deeply. Calibrate the target surface temperature by infrared camera. The method by coordinate transformation based on motion mechanism spatial position error measurement is used to calibrate the system target motion. At the end of it, Wavelet network temperature error compensation based on genetic algorithm and BP neural network based on improved spatial position compensation scheme are proposed for the target temperature control system and motion moving mechanism, respectively. Experimental results show that the system accuracy after compensating is improved to a certain degree.Finally, this paper is concerned with the software applications by C++ for target simulation system. The paper is further extended to discussing the optimizing of modular design, precise timing methods and other key issues in PC application software. Test temperature control system, synchronous operation, sinusoidal response and comprehensive trajectory by PC software and testing software. Based on the results, system performance indicators meet the technical specifications.
