The traditional projectile has its limitations, it can not cause the same degree of effect damage on underwater targets. But the supercavitation projectile which was developed basing on supercavitation technology shows better potential. Based on the method of numerical simulation, this paper analyzes the high-speed projectile penetration process of underwater target board, and the penetration process in the air for comparison; Take the period during which the ricochet forms into further consideration, and how the variation of projectile’s models and parameters、initial conditions influences the penetration process has been studied respectively. The major research content of this essay is as follows:Perform numerical simulations on the high-speed projectile penetration process of target board in the air and below the water table respectively, and for comparison and analysis. Finding out the diversity of the projectiles and target boards, then drawing conclusions about how the thickness of the target influence the penetration process with some regularity. In the process of high-speed projectile penetrate the target body at an angle, give full consideration to influences which were caused by the initial velocity and the incident angles, then further validate and refine the process of penetration with some regularity after the position of mass center and the shape of the head have been changed. This article further focuses on the value of the critical angle beyond which the high-speed projectile will bounce out of the target body’s surface under the condition of the incident velocity limited and changing trends of the value mentioned above while the incident velocity increases constantly.
