As a mean of power, money wields its impact upon fate of nations with growing significance. This is more true after the collapse of Bretton Woods System and USD became dominant in the World Currency System. With booming economy, China is trying to figure a way out of the oligarchy monetary system before that reality. It is crucial of how China decides to deal with its own money and with others’.This article analyses how China could expand its own benefits within the boundary of World Currency System on the basis of precedent studies. It incorporates ideas of how monetary power is defined, how it is structured, how China is positioned in World Currency System, and how China explores and adventures in the System.Monetary power is featured by its static structure and chronological variation. Such duality determines the study of monetary power being an ongoing process. Therefore, by studying theories of monetary power and China’s practice of solidifying its own, this article offers consultancy for China in how to acquire and expand such power.The article is divided into three chapters:Chapter One:Definition of monetary power. This chapter discusses origin and evolution of monetary power and its function in international politics & economies with three mainstream theories; Chapter Two: Study of monetary power’s impact upon nations and their people and its systematic drawbacks; Chapter Three:Consultancy for China’s approach and path to dominance by analyzing predetermined facts.
