Mold is the basis for manufacturing industry, which determines the level of product quality. It has been said as "basement of industries","efficiency amplifiers". Mold with high-tech in itself also push the technological achievements into practice. It has become an important indicator for the manufacturing level of the country. The current output of the world’s mold is about S100billion annually. China’s mold industry is in third place after Japan and the US.In recent years, China’s mold industry has been developed rapidly at the annual rate of about15%which also provide opportunities for a number of SMEs.With the increasingly fierce competition in domestic and abroad market,the update of technology level in mold industry, the improvement of equipment condition and the expansion of production scale, SMEs should be realize the vital problem that how to seize the opportunities, meet the challenges and promote the development. Consequently, enterprise development strategic must be the first thing to be cleared.This article consists of five parts.The first part reviews the general information and states the operating status of R company and then clarifies the strategy problem it faces.Then it expounds the roadmap and research method of this article.The second part systematically and thoroughly analyzes external environment of R Molding Company.It focuses on the macro and industry environment with PEST environmem analysis method and Michael Porter’s five competition driving forces and finally draws the External Factors Evaluation Matrix to summarize the threats and opportunities which R Company faces.The third part systematically analyzes internal environment, especially its strengths and weakness from the respects of the resources and capabilities of R Company, and uses Internal Factors Evaluation Matrix to summarize its strengths and weakness.The fourth part uses the tool of SWOT to analyze the status that it faces based on the analysis result of EFE and IFE Matrix to find out proper strategy based on the consideration of its strengths, weakness, opportunities and threat. And it uses QSPM to choose the whole competitive enterprise strategy. R Company should implement low-cost and focus competitive strategy and growth strategy to improve the company’s current market position.The last part provides the action details for the strategy defined. The strategy is based on the theory and produced after the systematic analysis with qualitative and quantitative method.It is availble as a reference for strategy making of R Company.Now a lot if SEMs are facing the similar enviorment like R company.The strategy research of R will bring an important practical meaning to those SEMs.
