Evaluation And Improvement Of Internal Control Of Xilinguole Branch Of Agricultural Bank Of China

The internal control of commercial banks is the prerequisite for implementing the financial regulations, strengthening the internal management and carrying out the compliance operation in accordance with law; it is an important mean to guard against financial risks and fight against financial crimes; it is in line with the objective requirements of the market economic development and the deepening financial system reform. The perfection of the internal control of commercial banks plays a very important role in improving the core competitiveness of commercial banks and strengthening their internal management and so on. In recent years, a series of measures have been taken by the joint-stock commercial banks system in China in terms of the construction of internal control, and the internal control of various banks has been constantly improved and the ability of internal control has also been strengthened. However, there are some risks staying hidden for the operation and management of commercial banks due to the defects existing in the design of the internal control system and the weak execution of internal control are found abundantly. This paper takes the Xilingol Branch of Agricultural Bank of China as an example. Through a study on the status of the bank’s internal control, this paper evaluates the problems appearing in the bank’s internal control from two aspects of the system design and system execution respectively, finding its existent weak links, and then carries out an analysis of the cause, referring to the advanced experience of other commercial banks’ internal control to put forward some suggestions for improving the internal control of the Xilingol Branch of Agricultural Bank of China, attempting to provide useful references for Agricultural Bank of China an its subordinate branches.
