Research On The Development Strategy Of Standard Chartered Bank In Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region

Foreign banks means the banks operate in China， but their headquarter in othercountry and they owned by foreign financial groups. The business scope of foreign banksin the different local market is distinct， which must obey the local bank-law andregulation.In the view of the many aspects of our socialist society， the environment andeconomic influence in the international community， there is many difference from theforeign banks to our local commercial banks， which include operating model， profitmodel， capital management， investment banking， and risk prevention. Mostimportant， after these foreign banks entered into Chinese market， we could learn a lotfrom the competition with our local state-owned banks， such as their more advancedfinancial experience.In recent years， because of high-speed growth of Chinese economy， the numberof branches of foreign banks in China is obviously increasing. The CASS Institute ofEconomics has done a lot of research and analysis about this phenomenon. The mainareas of research and analysis include foreign banks’ operating model， business scope，and development strategy and so on. However， because of the lack of empiricalmethods and statistical data selection， most scholars cannot reach the same conclusionfrom the different experimental results. Therefore， the research is inadequate.Especially， for some particular business areas， the research of the advantages andproblems of the foreign bank development is relatively empty，when foreign banks enterinto a new market， they do not only follow the overall strategic leadership and directionof the Group， but also they build a specific business model which secure the way for itsdevelopment.Based on this understanding， theoretical analysis and comparative analysis will be used in this paper combined with microeconomics， macroeconomics， money andbanking， and corporate governance structure theory. Also this paper will introduce theshare of the foreign banks in China’s banking market and the market environment ofChina’s banking industry. The research and investigation will include many aspects ofthe banking business， performance evaluation， corporate governance， serviceadvantages. The purpose of this paper is to conclude the business strategy of StandardChartered Bank in the Inner Mongolia， to provide ideas for localization methods， andto improve profit margins and market share.
