Since the reform and opening-up, the demographic dividend has played a great role in the takeoff of China’s economic growth. And China’s demographic dividend has its exclusive characteristics. On the one hand, due to the strict Only-One-Child policy, the demographic dividend has been advanced, thus it also could disappear rapidly. On the other hand, China covers a large land, so the demographic dividend performs diversified from region to region with the moving of population between east, middle and west. This paper will focus on the exclusive features of China’s demographic dividend to compare the differences in demographic dividend among east, middle and west and research its effects on economic growth by using statistics and econometrics to operate the empirical analysis. In the end, according to the analysis on the relationship between regional diversity of demographic dividend and economic growth, we give some reasonable suggestions on making good use of the current demographic dividend and tackling with the disappearance of demographic dividend. |
