Site testing is a key link in the construction of modern astronomical telescope equipment, and it is a hot topic in the field of astronomical research. In order to obtain scientific and accurate data for the evaluation of the observatory site, the general need to observe the long term stability for the seeing of the candidate sites after the initial site selection. But, the candidate sites are often located in the place where the sea dials high, sparsely populated areas, under very difficult conditions. And which has brought great difficulties to the worker. How to make use of the technology of remote telescope, automatic (or remote artificial auxiliary) to carry out the observation of the seeing of the observatory site, so as to reduce the labor cost, reduce personal injury, improve data quality and integrity. Which have become the urgent problems in the research of Site testing. It is in such context, this paper focuses on some key technologies of the system which automatic observation of Site testing based on RTS2. And the main contents include:1) It systematically analyzes the working principle and operation process of the RTS2, to explore the possibility of the RTS2 as automatic observation system of Site testing, and analysis of its composition and scheduling model.2) For the CCD camera which the current Site testing in commonly used but not supported by RTS2 proposed and studied the CCD extension method under heterogeneous operating systems to solve the problem which use of RTS2 under Linux control the CCD under the Windows achieving the camera observation data acquisition. During the study, achieved a new CCD class SocketCCD under the RTS2 system, made use of DirectShow technology to access the actual CCD device under Windows, and realized the RTS2 under Linux controlling the CCD devices under the Windows by using socket technology.3) According to the requirements of actual location, this paper designed and implemented of a remote monitoring system. The system can be used in astronomical location case through the network to monitor the location of the site, and it including equipment power supply switch and a video acquisition and remote control of site location.Overall, this paper studies the realization method of the automatic observation system of Site testing based on RTS2, and solves the problem of CCD devices under heterogeneous operating systems. In addition, this study provides a reference and precedent for other equipment under the RTS2 system, and it has important reference value for access and control equipment under the complex system or cluster environment. The function of remote monitoring can make the worker controlling the state of remote at any time in the more comfortable environment. Moreover, the function of power switch control under emergency ensures the safety of the whole system and guarantees the normal operation of the telescope and other equipment to maximize. And it is not only improves the efficiency of the Site testing, but also plays a very important role on the management and maintenance of equipment.
