The technique of non-contact monitoring on vital signs is a probing skill that the tested people are monitored on their parameters of vital signs without contacting their bodies. At present, the research hotspot for the scientists all over the world is applying radar technique into solving various problems of non-contact monitoring on vital signs. One problem to be solved is how to design a radar array optimal in order to reduce the sidelobe level to the greatest extent with this most economic and simplest radar array so as to improving the performance of the radar system. From the above perspective, this paper emphasizes on designing one-dimensional and less-studied two-dimensional radar arrays with MATLAB simulation in the context of non contact vital signs monitoring. And in order to be innovative, two virtual aperture radar systems:time accumulation radar and MIMO radar with PSO and DE algorithm is selected as the research target of the array optimization design because there are not a lot studies in this field.This paper focuses on the research on radar array optimization design of non-contact life monitoring system. The main work is illustrated as follows:1. The principle and flow charts of intelligent optimization algorithm including PSO, DE and their derivative algorithms are also given.2. The principle and pattern formulas of time accumulation radar and MIMO radar are introduced. We formulate the one-dimensional array optimization problem of time accumulation radar and MIMO radar, and then solve it by the intelligent algorithm.3. In addition, we formulate the two-dimensional array optimization problem of time accumulation radar and MIMO radar and solve it using intelligent algorithm. We figure out an average value after several times’ MATLAB simulation of four two-dimensional arrays, including square array, triangular array, circular array and sparse array. Finally, we compare and analyze the simulation results of these different arrays, algorithms and different radars.4. We analyze the parameters of BinPSO and AMDE with two-dimensional sparse array MIMO radar. We figure out a mean value after several times’MATLAB simulation with different groups of parameters and finally analyze the acquired results.
