Mid-Infrared polarization MgO:PPLN crystal optical parametric oscillator based on Quasi phase matching is an important method to obtain the infrared laser, infrared laser and the red laser of the parametric oscillation process has great application value, the related research has great guiding mean to obtain wide tunable infrared laser and red laser.In theory, this article from the three waves interaction coupled wave equation, the basic principle of the birefringent phase matching (BPM) and phase matching (QPM) were analyzed in detail. Expounded the process of the two methods of matching, compared their characteristics; Theory analyzed the parametric oscillation process of OPO based on PPLN crystal, explained the temperature tuning principle of PPLN.Experiment studied characteristics of 808 nm side pump module Nd:YAG active q-switched pulse laser output, we got the max power 200W under CW model and max power 186W under acousto-optic q-switched model 1064 nm laser output through experiment.We used 1064nm laser pulse as pump sources to pump the infrared OPO system, adjusted the Q frequencyto10 kHz, nonlinear crystal was MgO:PPLN, three pieces of crystal polarizationcycle of 29μm,29.8μm, and 30.8μm, temperature tuning, through the continuous control of the temperature change of the temperature furnace, precision was 0.1℃, respectively to obtain the wavelength range of 3.758μm±3.932μm 3.438μm-3.648μm and 2.940μm-3.140μm tunable mid-infrared laser output, the highest output power of infrared laser was 10.29 W.Finally, we studied red laser that the near-infrared laser’s frequency add 1064nm laser’s frequency in the process of optical parametric oscillator. In the pump current constant, adjustable frequency under the condition of 10 kHz, changed the temperature of nonlinear crystal by controlling the temperature of the furnace, respectively obtained the wavelength range of 615.2nm-619.2nm,622.4nm-628.8nm and 640.4nm-649.3nm tunable red laser output. Change the pump current, got the highest power of 1.68 W red laser output.
