Lei-ring used by the piston rod plays a very important role on sealing performance of hydraulic cylinder. Lei-ring sealing performance directly impact of the hydraulic cylinder whether can reach the rated working pressure or not. If the Lei ring is damaged, hydraulic cylinder oil will leak, resulting in waste of resources and environmental pollution, and it may even lead to safety accidents. The current research on sealing ring is more about O-ring and are mainly concentrated in the static analysis, few research on Lei-ring. So it is of great significance in the seal performance analysis of Lei-ring when it reciprocating movement. Most of Lei-rings are made of rubber and polyurethane, which are super elastomer materials. In this paper, the specimens of sealing ring material are tensile tested to get the Rivlin-Mooney constant with the help of the data processing software MATLAB and ANSYS, in which that are applied super elastic properties and constitutive theory of nonlinear material and also the method of determining the mechanical properties of constant. After reasonable assumptions and simplifications, using ANSYS software, the 2-D finite element model of the Lei-ring is established to analyze the sealing performance.Only one of these factors is changed to explore the effects of different working conditions and structure size on the sealing performance. In addition the 2D model of Lei-ring ignores the eccentric and sealing ring section with torsional effect on sealing performance the 3D finite element model of Lei-ring is built in the paper to simulation analyze of sealing performance in the view of sealing eccentric. The paper provides a theoretical basis on reasonable service life prediction and design ring seal structure.
