Low speed and double turbine wheel hydrodynamic torque converter with adjustable guide vanes occurs more and more attention because of its wide range of high efficient and adjusting area in the field of hydraulic transmission,which has high research value.At present, the research of low speed and double turbine wheel hydrodynamic torque converter with adjustable guide vanes in our country is still blank. The only model with the highest efficiency of 82.22% has been improved based on the type of internal combustion engine vehicle hydraulic torque co nverter NY5, but the study of its performance is not sufficient.This article will take the classical mature one beam theory to study the model, getting the influence of the impeller blade Angle and the rotation speed ratio in low speed and double turbine wheel hydrodynamic torque converter with adjustable guide vanes. O n the basis of research achievements in one beam theory,the article will make the further optimization and calculation by CFD,to satisfy the WinDrive technical requirements of hydraulic torque converter.Firstly, establish the mathematical model of double turbine hydraulic torque converter by vane hydraulic machinery of Euler equation.Then change the five import and export of the impeller Angle respectively to gain the general law of influence on its performance. C hange the speed ratio,to get that the the optimal working condition of the torque converter is 0.35. Optimize the blade angle to get the highest efficiency of 89.54%.Secondly, on the basis of one beam theory, modify the impeller blade Angle by CFX- BladeGen,mesh grids by Turbo Grid, calculate by CFD to get the efficiency of 85.87% and high efficient area of 0.37,which is more suitable for work on a wide range of operating conditions.Finally, calculate the hydraulic torque converter by C FD under different working conditions,getting the optimal conditions of i = 0.35,which is consistent with the theoretical value. Under the optimal conditions, analyse the flow state and the loss distribution,proving the effect of optimization.
