Linear motion can be seen everywhere in our daily life. However, the traditional linear motion is often achieved by the rotation of the motor and drive device. But this approach will lead to increased costs and low efficiency. The linear switched reluctance motor has simple structure, which can convert electric energy into mechanical energy in linear motion without intermediate transmission device. The direct linear drive mode makes the motor has the advantages of fast response, high control precision, and has broad application prospects in the field of linear high precision position control.This paper first introduces the development history of the linear motor and research status of the linear switched reluctance motor, brief overviews the structure and principle of linear switched reluctance motor, establishes the mathematical model of linear switched reluctance motor based on the circuit equation, mechanical equation, electromechanical equation and finite-element dataBased on the mathematical model, this paper use sliding mode variable structure control method to design the linear switched reluctance motor position controller and puts forward improved reaching law to solve sliding mode process convergence and the chattering problem. At the same time, for unknown load disturbance and the influence of static friction on the control precision, this paper constructs a load observer compensation, in order to improve the tracking accuracy of the system. Finally, the paper designs and implements a linear switched reluctance motor drive position control, which provides the hardware platform for the experimental verification of control algorithm.This paper builds simulation model of the linear switched reluctance motor position control system, respectively analyses the influence of the control parameters on the control effect by simulation in different algorithms, compares the different algorithms in terms of the controller effect under the same conditions. Simulation results show that the load observer improved reaching law sliding mode control algorithm has better steady and dynamic performance. The experimental results and simulation results are basically consistent, which further verifies the feasibility and superiority of the proposed algorithm in the position control of the linear switched reluctance motor.
