With the emergence and application of new reducing resistance technology such as grounding module, ion-stick grounding, deep water well grounding, the application effect of new reducing resistance technology need to be reasonable evaluation. Meanwhile, cross application of various reducing resistance technology has become an important part of the substation grounding grid design. Mechanism and application effect of complex grounding scheme have become the key problem of the grounding technology research at home and abroad. The present research of new reducing resistance technology and complex grounding scheme lacks of proper evaluation model and analysis of applicability at home and abroad, which makes the design results and measured results a great difference after the construction of grounding system. That lead to grounding system modification again and again, thus, it causes substation construction period delayed and great economic loss. Therefore, deep research of new reducing resistance technology and composite resistance reduction scheme is urgent.Firstly, mechanism, adaptability, economy analysis of conventional two-dimensional reducing resistance technology and new reducing resistance technology were proposed. Effects on resistance reducing of vertical grounding electrode and slanting grounding electrode were analyzed by test and simulation. Grounding module, ion-stick grounding, deep water well grounding technology were deep researched by analysis of the principle, performance evaluation, the applicable scope, resistance reduction efficiency and the simulation model. Grounding resistance reduction measures optimized selection system was developed based on the research above. It can automatically conduct a comprehensive and quantitative evaluation for a variety of resistance reduction measures according to different ground grid, and gives combination design the resistance reduction measures that meet the optimum goals. An engineering example was analyzed through the grounding resistance reduction measures optimized selection system. The result show that the plan be calculated by the optimized selection system has good resistance reduction effect. It proved the validity and practicability of the research results. The research results for the resistance reduction engineering in this article provide the theory basis for adopting new reducing resistance technology, enhance the efficiency of grounding design.
