Due to the ferromagnetic material, the current AC voltage stabilizers are too large, and cost very high. The power electronic voltage stabilizer combining with AC/AC conversion technology has become the trend of development. Combined with the characteristics of Cuk converter, a new type of converter has been put forward in this thesis.It has excellent performance in voltage regulation and stabilization.Besides, it has advantages of small volume, rapid dynamic response and low cost. Due to the excellent performance and application prospect, the research on AC/AC converter based on Cuk converter is of great significance.Firstly, this thesis elaborated the existing voltage stabilizer and AC/AC conversion technology in detail. According to the research of hotspot and market demand, a new type of AC/AC converter based on Cuk converter was proposed. Its operating principle was analyzed and analysis results were validated by MATLAB/SIMULINK.Secondly, the shortcoming of two kinds of soft switching used in AC/AC converter are summarized. Then in order to decrease the switching losses of converter running on high frequency, a new type of bidirectional switch with couplied inductor was designed. Its operational principl was introduced and the softening effect with bridge switching was compared in this thesis.Thirdly, this thesis established the mathematical model of Cuk AC/AC converter small-singal disturbance, and a double colosed loop control system with current inner loop and voltage external loop was designed. The output of converter was quite well in simulation experiment under much status such as voltage disturbance and load disturbance.Finally, an experimental prototypeis was made after by designing parmeters of internal components, auxiliary circuits and control system. We tested the output of converter and components’ status. The experimental results have proved that the design of converter is feasible. The thesis forecast of the future work, lay the foundation and provid the direction for the future research.
