In this paper,a set of specialized real-time simulation test system is designed for the freight locomotive operation of energy-saving control system test. This system not only can realize the automatic test of the control system, but also can evaluate the control performance of the system by means of simulation, emulation and so on. In this chapter,the analysis of testing theory and the system development and testing requirements is done to primarily determine the hardware structure and software function of the simulation test platform, and give the test methods and test procedures that are based on the semi-physical simulation test platform.The platform is composed of a comprehensive test instrument, LKJ2000, security information platform, PC host computer, industrial grade high performance CAN card, the optimization controller and the corresponding software. The test instrument, LKJ2000 and safety information platform are mainly used to transfer the data from the locomotive and the lines; the host computer is installed with VS2012, which is mainly used in the calculation of the freight locomotive model and the displaying of the testing result; CAN card is used to implement the interface connection between the simulation model and the optimization controller, and complete the uplink transmission of the real-time data and the line data. The platform can be regarded as a virtual train, it and the optimization controller together form a loop-locked semi-physical simulation control loop, which can be used to carry out the simulation test of the optimization control algorithm under various conditions. For the platform development process, this paper mainly focuses on the research of the following three aspects:(1)Research on dynamics modeling of freight locomotives. Freight locomotive is a typical nonlinear unstable system. Firstly, the force analysis of freight locomotives under various conditions is carried out, and the multiple particle discrete mathematical model is established according to the actual operation conditions.(2)Based on PC and industrial grade CAN card and C# programming language, the simulation operation display interface is established. According to the interface requirements of the simulation platform, the semi-physical simulation test platform which is based on CAN bus and RS232 serial port communication is designed.(3)Test on the function of each module of the system according to the test requirements, including unit testing, integration testing, system testing,etc. The experimental results of the test show that the platform meets the hardware interface of the semi-physical simulation test and the real-time requirement of the software.Finally, the analysis of the semi-physical simulation platform’s testing ability is carried out, and the test results proved that the semi-physical simulation test system designed in this project is effective and feasible.
