The wide-span ratio and the transverse stiffness of the suspension bridge decreases with the increasing of the span. It becomes the critical issues that improving the spaning ability of the suspension bridge without losing its transverse stiffness. Spatial cable suspension bridge shows a tridimensional cable style composing of its main cable and its suspender. It provides a horizontal reciprocating force just like a pendulum, enhancing the horizontal load-bearing capacity. Now spatial cable suspension bridge is used mainly in small and medium-sized bridges. However, it may also be used in large span suspension bridge in the future to improve the mechanical behavior of suspension bridge.Currently, the theory of parallel cable suspension bridge calculation has been very perfect, but the research of spatial cable suspension bridge is very poor. Calculation of spatial calbe suspension bridge is very complicated, because of the coupling of suspender and cable. The design and calculation of spatial suspension is mainly carried out using the thoery of traditional parallel cable suspension bridge presently. However, the application of the calculation theory of parallel cable suspension bridge on the spatial cable suspension bridge of the applicability is scarce. This is mainly because the problems as follows:(1) The traditional influence matrix method is difficult to converge on the spatial cable suspension bridge;(2) The error analysis of the piecewise segmented catenary and the piecewise linear and piecewise parabolic is lack;(3) The traditional calculation method can not meet the requirements of construction monitoring because the influence of main cable saddle on the main cable shape of spatial cable suspension bridge is short of.In order to overcome the problems above, this paper carries out the work as follows: Firstly, put forward a kind of MATLAB program based on the modified Marquardt least square method by extending the parallel cable suspension bridge main cable alignment algorithm to spatial cable suspension bridge, which does a good job on the convergence problem of spatial cable suspension bridge compared to the traditional one. Then, investigate and demonstrate the applicability of the traditional theory in the spatial cable suspension bridge comprehensively. A calculation theory of cable shape of spatial cable suspension bridge without loads, considering the influence of main cable saddle, is proposed, and the corresponding MATLAB program is worked out to satisfy the practice. Program is verified by the Songyuan Tianhe bridge.Moreover, program for spatial cable suspension bridge main cable shape analysis is compiled using the MATLAB language, and the key part of the code is given out for the use of engineering and technical personnel.
