Electric wheelchairs has brought great convenience for the elderly and the disabled to travel, which plays a very important role in their lives. Wheel-legged wheelchair as a climbing-stair device, not only can move on the ground but also climb stairs and obstacle,making up the drawbacks of common electric wheelchair. This paper focuses on model and simulation of wheel-legged wheelchair design and simulation of chassis mechanism and transmission mechanism, including the optimization design and simulation analysis of parameters for an adjustable chain transmission mechanism,the optimization design and simulation analysis of parameters for an adjustable pedals institutions,virtual prototype modeling the three-dimensional model of the wheelchair.Firstly, according to ergonomic principles, from the aspect of occupant comfort considerations,the adjustable pedal mechanism has been established, and conducted the kinematic analysis of the process of adjusting the angle and the high degree.Secondly, based on the traditional chain tensioning mechanism, combination of stair climbing wheelchair structure and motion requirements,we design a chain tensioning mechanism to achieve this operation,and conduct the Matlab optimization simulation and kinematic analysis.Finally, the agency uses a wheelchair lightweight chassis design, and assembly methods and fasteners have been redesigned to improve, the three-dimensional model of the wheelchair is established based on the 3D modeling software UG, and the virtual prototype of the chassis mechanism is established.
