Particles are closely related to industrial production and social life. It is very important to measure and control the particle size and the particle size distribution of Particle System(PSD) in industrial production, medical development, environmental protection and other various domains. Laser particle sizer is one of the most widely-used tools to measure the PSD.According to Mie ray scattering theory and the combination of spectral technique, the silicon photoelectric detectors are optimized and the embedded data acquisition system of laser particle sizer was designed and built. An integrated and miniaturized prototype was manufactured, assembled and adjusted. What’s more, preliminary experiments were taken with satisfactory results.The main tasks done are as follows.1.Based on Mie ray scattering theory and the combination of spectral technique,the silicon photoelectric detectors are optimized. Two multi-channel signal amplification circuit boards and one multi-channel gating circuit board are designed and manufactured according to the characteristics of the gathered photoelectric current. Combined with the mini6410 embedded development board, the hardware part of the embedded data acquisition system of laser particle sizer was finished.2. A stream interface driver to control the gating of 99 channels, A/D conversion, and the scanning of multi-channel signal was written based on WinCE operating system. What’s more, the results of data acquisition were displayed in the application.3. The mechanical structure of the prototype was designed and manufactured and some preliminary experiments were carried based on the latest prototype. In addition, these experiments obtained the corresponding spectral information.
