SMW supporting structure is widely used as a new retaining structure in deep foundation pit, where multihole overlapping lap technology with three-axis drilling machine is adopted to build the complete waterproof curtain with the structural steel in it. The paper studies the adaptability of SMW in the 12-meter deep foundation pit in Tianjin, introduces the working principles of SMW and the theoretical methods of algorithm calculation, makes the three-dimensional finite element analysis of factors that restrict the ultimate bearing capacity of SMW, collects the classical soil-layer parameters of Tianjin, and makes the parameter analysis on the supporting structure that prevents the deformation of foundation pit.1. The ultimate bearing capacity of SMW is the compressive strength of cement soil.2. Arching effect is caused by differential deformation of SMW that undering the action of earth pressure behind wall.3. It is very little to lateral deformation of SMW that changing the density of Universal Beam when using 850@600 mixed-in-place pile.4. The diameter of mixed-in-place pile is 650、850、1000 has little lateral differential deformation.5. The method of reducing the lateral deformation of retaining wall is increase the number of support in horizontal and vertical or setting engineering pile in pit or selecting appropriate excavation method.An engineering example was used to analyze the cause of the excessive lateral deformation and the auxiliary analysis that used to optimize the design is carried out by the finite elements softwares of ABAQUS in the fifth chapter.
