In recent years, air-supported structure developed rapidly in our country. Air-supported structure is a kind of flexible structure, which is sensitive to snow load, and snow load often plays an important role on the structure design. Air-supported structure collapse accident caused by snow load has arisen at home and abroad, therefore, this paper mainly focused on the snow load mechanical response and failure mechanism of air-supported structure.Firstly, comparing with the load code of China, the United States, Canada and the European Union for snow load distribution of air-supported structure, the paper studied even snow load and uneven snow load distribution of the shed roof, single span double slope roof and arched roof, combining with the four load codes simplified the snow load distribution of air-supported structure model.Secondly, by stress analysis of two-dimensional section of air-supported structure, the paper obtained the factors influencing the air-supported structure response. Using ANSYS finite element software analyzed two-dimensional model and three-dimensional model, and discussed the influence of the internal pressure, snow pressure, aspect ratio and rise-span ratio on the mechanical response of inflatable membrane under snow load, especially the structure of the influence of the maximum displacement and maximum stress. Then, the paper studied snow load response of air-supported structure with some soft solar panels. How solar panels distribution is good for the stress of the structure and the mechanical performance of structure under snow load were analyzed. Finally, the paper mainly studied the strength damage of air-supported structure. The paper deduced the calculation formula of vertical bearing capacity with snow accumulating over the air-supported structure. The relationship between ultimate capacity and rise-span ratio, inner pressure, membrane thickness also were discussed. LS-DYNA software was used to analyze structures limit load.
