The main study of the paper is based on the moving lines design strategy of the present users needs. The perspective of users needs embodies the nature of users as customers. That combines the perspectives of the developers and the designers towards users. The users needs analysis in this perspective has thought over the periodical changing needs of the family life cycle, confronted the needs compromise under resource limits caused by purchasing power motivation, and responded the more-attention-drawing function refinement design needs as times develops and the environmental psychology needs that are easily ignored. The paper is attempting to obtain the relatively objective and comprehensive users needs by research and analysis to cope with the design strategy of the layout moving lines.The paper mainly undertakes three research methods, document analysis, needs survey and case analysis. Document research adopts real estate development planning and positioning analysis and environmental psychology research to study and learn the invisible psychological needs of the users. The face-to-face interviews record the layout use contradictions of the users to guide the users to depict the needs under the ideal living circumstances. And,the range extension of the questionnaire survey verifies the universality of the interview conclusion to obtain the objective users needs as the evidence of the moving lines design strategy. The writer has surveyed and collected a lot of excellent cases at home and abroad that have been inspected by markets in order to intuitively express the techniques of the good moving lines design strategy by analysis.The users needs of the paper mainly embody three aspects, using needs, individual needs and self-promotion psychology needs. Based on the statistics results of the survey and interview, the writer summarizes some refinement design strategies of the porch, sitting room, dining room, bedroom and bathroom moving lines considering the basic principles of the layout design. The paper mainly focuses on the alternatives of communication or staying alone and the relation between private grade and moving lines design in the respect of individual needs. Self-promotion psychology needs are closely related to real estate customers’ classification concept, which reflects the relation between Maslow’s demands level and layout moving lines design.The chapters of the paper are as follows. Chapter 1is the introduction. Chapter 2 analyzes users needs factors in the means of extending document research. Chapter 3 surveys and verifies the needs factors. Chapter 4 introduces excellent foreign cases. Chapter 5 discusses countermeasures of the environmental psychology needs and moving lines strategies. Chapter 6 describes the strategy countermeasures brought by the space function refinement needs. Chapter 7 outlines moving lines organizing strategy by the classification of customers. In the end, the paper introduces residential layout design practice projects in the guide to research results and reflects the market inspection results.
