In recent years, with the rapid development of structural health monitoring technology, piezoelectric sensors have been further developed. How to use the packaged piezoelectric sensors to monitor steel corrosion, the current domestic and foreign scholars have rarely involved. Therefore, there are important significance in actual project to monitor rein forcement corrosion by piezoelectric sensors. In this paper, the reinforcement corrosion monitoring system which based on packaged piezoelectric sensors was established, to research on the performance of packaged piezoelectric sensors, monitoring of its testability to reinforcement corrosion, finite element simulation of reinforcement corrosion. The following several aspects was included:Created packaged piezoelectric sensors, studied its shielding performance, the effect of cement-based on monitoring signals, cement mortar hydration monitoring and other characteristics, etc. The results show that: encapsulation process can effectively shield the noize, distinction of in signal amplitude of different frequencies would reduce in cement-based piezoelectric sensors. Packaged piezoelectric sensors in cement hydration process can maintain its stability. So it show that the sensor can apply to rebar corrosion monitoring.Using ANSYS finite element software to simulat e the piezoelectric sensor monitoring of reinforcement corrosion on piezoelectric sensor by sine signals. From the ANSYS results we find that the expansion force can make the signal amplitude reduce slightly, and with the increase of rebar corrosion rate gradually degraded, the bond strength between reinforcement and concrete causes signal relative amplitude increase. Through different protective layer thickness and the experimental results under different water/cement ratio, compare results of simulation, demonstrates the feasibility of encapsulati on type piezoelectric sensor monitoring of reinforcement corrosion.Comparison of ANSYS analysis and the experimental results, it can be seen that the experiment measured the relative amplitude- corrosion rate curve and simulation of relative amplitude-corrosion rate curve has the same trend. Relative amplitude increase with the increase of corrosion rate. Different layer thickness and different water-cement ratio under different working conditions, the change rule of have similar shows that the conclusi ons have general.
