Nansha District is located in the south of Shawan Waterway in GuangZhou.It is located in the coastal river network area of the downstream beijiang and xijiang river, on the verge of LingDingYang and pearl river mouth, in the forefront of the pearl river delta alluvial plain zone.Nansha District became the sixth national level’s new district according to the approval of State Council in September of 2012. Construction of development in Nansha District has risen to national strategic level, each economic construction got rapid development, and all kinds of large municipal traffic engineering and buildings are planning and constructing now. On the long-term influence of fluvial outwash and sea tide’s in or out, Nansha District accumulates the soft soil of interactive marine and terrestrial deposit. There are some characteristics showing that void ration of soft soil is large, intensity is low, water content is high, permeability is small, and thickness is normally 20-40 m. The profound silt and soft clay has a huge influence on the engineering construction work in Nansha District.Through literature review, onsite research, test analysis these kinds of methods, this article did a systematic analysis and research on distributional characteristics of soft soil in Nansha District, physical and mechanical characteristics, issues existing in soft soil improvement and countermeasures, which all can provide the reference for future’s design and construction in Nansha District.First, there was a research and analysis about forming times of soft soil foundation and depositional environment in Nansha District, there was also an analysis and summary about the distributional characteristics of soft soil in Nansha District based on this District’s geological and topographical features. Secondly, physical and mechanical parameters of soft soil about typical construction engineering in Nanshan District were analyzed statistically, which research the laws of soft soil parameters changing with depth in Nansha District; also analyze the engineering characteristics of soft soil in Nansha based on the study of grain composition, mineral composition, consolidation performance and permeability etc. Then research and analyze common solutions for reinforcing mechanism and application scope in Nanshan District; in terms of these existing problems here, doing comprehensive analysis and providing reasonable solutions. Based on all analysis of investigation, provide the solutions and design parameters, which is suitable for soft soil foundation in Nanshan District. Finally, according to typical engineering examples and onsite supervised data, it is required to analyze and research solutions about soft soil foundation and design parameters’ reliability, utility and effectiveness. The main research results of the paper showed below:(1) Soft soils are widely distributed inside of Nansha District, and the thickness is larger, based on the basic principles of partition, selecting landform, sediment types, the thickness of soft soil development can be regarded as division index, there are 4 engineering areas being divided in Nansha District, and describing detailed to each division.(2)Provide the basic principles of deep soft soil foundation designed solutions and main design parameters of common soft soil solutions.(3) Take a typical soft soil foundation reinforcement as an example, analyze the design method of soft foundation processing and reinforcement effect, which indicates that solutions and parameters of soft soil provided are reasonable, effective and reliable.
