Fabric liner type self-lubricating sphericalplain bearing is finding wider and wider application in the field of aerospace, the main failure form is wear, wear lose its normal self-lubricating ability, even cause relevant institutions bite jammed, lead to disastrous consequences. The surface texture, with its excellent antifriction and anti-wear properties proved after surface modification, surface coating after surface treatment technology of a novel and effective method of surface treatment. Therefore, the use of surface texture processing technology to improve the tribological properties of the fabric liner type self-lubricating sphericalplain bearing, has important practical significance.Adopt sliding friction ring specimen face contact form, this paper simulate the self-lubricating sphericalplain bearing liner friction with the inner ring appearance, and series of fundamental experimental study. Patterns of micron dimples were created on the ring specimen face by using laser surface texture processing technology. Surface Texture had been creating with different diameter, depth and area density. The tribological experiments were carried out using the screen high temperature friction and wear test machine to investigate the tribological properties of textured ring specimen face with different geometric parameters. This paper mainly analysized the effect of the tribological experiments with different geometric parameters and optimized the geometric parameters of surface texture. Finally analyzed the wear mechanism and transfer film formation mechanism of self-lubricating fabric liner friction with surface texture ring specimen.The experimental results show that the surface texture has excellent antifriction and anti-wear effect. In diameter d=75μm, depth h=40μm, area density r=39.4% and depth to diameter ratio h/d = 0.55 when surface texture showed the best friction-reducing effect; in diameter d=75μm, depth h=5μm, area density r=39.4% and depth to diameter ratio h/d=0.3when surface texture performance of the best effect of reducing wear. And when diameter d=200μm, surface texture exhibits increased the wear. The wear mechanism of self-lubricating fabric liner friction with smooth surface and textured ring specimen is mainly abrasive wear and adhesive wear, but its formation mechanisms are different.Energy spectrum and the mass fraction of the elements of the change by the ring of thesample shows that the transfer film from the interior surface texture pit spread out to the surrounding area.
