As urbanization continues to accelerate, urban stormwater problem has become a great challenge which is necessary to be faced. Urban land development situation lead to increased impervious surface, rainwater can not follow the laws of nature to recharge groundwater infiltration, drain away a lot in a short time, resulting in most of the cities "no rain the drought, the rain floods" awkward dilemma, water pollution also more and more. In December 2013, the General Secretary Xi Jinping mentioned: construction of natural accumulation, natural infiltration, the natural purification of "Sponge city" will be put on the urban water environment to new heights, how would the city management and urban stormwater ecological construction combined become a hot topic.Urban road system as a total urban area of nearly one-third of the runoff, stormwater pollution important took place, bringing together with emissions to, and because the urban road network Unicom and has longitudinal, transverse spatial characteristics of slope, excavation play road rain water quantity, water quality management, to explore how adaptive design of urban road green ecological landscape of urban construction and implementation of the sponge to create a stable and diverse cities in Northwest habitats of biological communities is significant. Although the drought in northwest China’s climate and ecological environment is fragile, but the observation is not difficult to find among the cities, many cities in the region has a range of optimum ecological background conditions. Through Xi’an, Xining, Lanzhou, Urumqi and Yinchuan research can be found in five cities, through appropriate human intervention in the urban built space can create a high species richness, high activity of "natural" community, urbanization process should be the city’s new eco process. This article will discuss today’s hot rainwater management strategies and ecological landscape design combining literature in related fields, case study look after proposed based on the characteristics of the Northwest climate policy through the use of LID remodeling road green space of the water environment, and in On top of this habitat conditions for the establishment of plant communities adapted to the site, the landscape ecological design, explore and create habitat in the area west of the city roads green methods.
