In the power grid, power system reactive power optimization of power grid security, economic and stable operation plays an important role. Because of reactive power optimization problem with constraint conditions, the multivariate parameters and the characteristics of discrete and continuous variable parameters coexist, and the constraint conditions for non-convex high order equation, this equation with multiple constraints and variables, so the classical mathematical optimization algorithm is impossible to solve. Need to seek appropriate solutions.Power system reactive power optimization problem is presented in this paper, on the basis of P-Q decomposition method to calculate the wave equation for solving electricity network, set up power system static reactive power optimization mathematical model of single objective, and then select the penalty function to deal with the objective function equation of generator reactive cross point and voltage crossing point. Then this article is based on the research achievements of reactive power optimization, for a variety of classical mathematical optimization algorithm and the characteristics of artificial intelligence optimization algorithm after comprehensive analysis, targeted for several emerging intelligent optimization algorithm are analyzed, and choose better search efficiency and convergence characteristics of invasive weeds(IWO) optimization algorithm is improved, combined with the advantages of particle swarm optimization(PSO) algorithm is used to complement each other, each other for the first time the IWO-PSO hybrid optimization algorithm is put forward to solve the power system reactive power optimization equation, the hybrid algorithm improves the performance optimization of invasive weeds algorithm, and effectively make up for the invasion of weeds optimization algorithm is easy to fall into local convergence.In this paper, the strong convergence of the IWO-PSO hybrid optimization algorithm is applied in power system reactive power optimization calculation of the IEEE30 node, by giving the system data, using MATLAB software to programming, the IWO-PSO hybrid optimization algorithm with genetic algorithm, particle swarm optimization algorithm and the invasion of weeds in the IEEE30 node system reactive power optimization algorithm, this paper compares and analyzes the simulation calculation results show that this paper uses the IWO-PSO hybrid optimization algorithm is much better, compared with other kinds of optimization algorithm, the hybrid optimization algorithm convergence speed is faster and better convergence performance, improves the load node voltage stability margin, and can effectively reduce the active network loss of power grid. Finally, the paper will IWO- PSO hybrid optimization algorithm in IEEE57 nodes on the standard test system, the results verified the IWO-PSO hybrid algorithm for power system reliability and practicability of the reactive power optimization.
