A large number of abandoned iron ore tailings accumulation has brought a lot of damage to the people’s ecological environment. Although a variety of utilization way has gained some great achievement.It still can not ease the situation of large amount of iron ore tailings waste accumulation. To find efficient and reasonable iron ore tailings utilization way of recycling is now effectively problem to be solved. This paper attempts to take iron ore tailings as damping materials and insulation materials. Based on the discrete element method and the new method to test soil damping which have been building by our team. By means of simulation and experiment,parameter influences on the iron oril tailings particle damping was studied.The iron oil tailings were used as filler in hollow plate. Besides,the sound insulation performance was tested by the sound absorption and sound insulation tester. Explore the application of iron oil tailings in the field of sound insulation.Through surveying a great number of the utilization situation of domestic and foreign iron ore tailings,the basic principle and algorithm of discrete element method were sorter out detailedly. Software PFC3 D helps establish energy dissipation model of rectangular particle damper. By means of this model, the dynamic energy dissipation of particles with different external excitation and different influence parameters can be simulated. Analysis of single degree of freedom structure model of rectangular particle damper in the case of simple harmonic excitation. By changing internal and external factors, the influence of various factors on the friction energy dissipation was obtained.On the basis of previous research, the new method to test soil damping shows the effectiveness of the granular material internal damping performance. The iron ore tailings samples filled selection of iron ore tailings samples,characterize the damping value by the loss factor And the influence of parameter variation was analyzed. The final analysis of the iron ore tailings preparation feasibility of insulation structure as a filler prepared by test method.Obtained for iron ore tailing packing parameter change on the change rule of the influence of the composite structure materials acoustic performance.Putting forward the iron ore tailings effective means of recycling. In this paper,we get the following main conclusions:1. PFC3 D as a tool to study the numerical simulation of rectangular particle damper tailings particle damping is feasible. The friction energy dissipation process canbe simulated when the damping particles are subjected to external excitation. By studying the influence of the two parameters of excitation amplitude and excitation frequency on the law of energy dissipation. It is found that the total friction energy dissipation is proportional to the amplitude of the excitation, and is inversely proportional to the excitation frequency.2. With the increase of the filling rate of tailings sand particles, the total friction energy dissipation in the unit period increases obviously. With the increase of particle size, the total friction energy dissipation is gradually increasing. The change of poisson’s ratio of little effects on the law of friction energy dissipation of the rectangular particle dampers. Total friction energy dissipation increases with the increase of friction coefficient. The effect of particle density on the friction energy dissipation per unit period is greater, the greater the density, the total friction energy consumption is increased obviously.3. Physical parameter changes in iron ore tailings have obvious influence on the overall sound insulation performance of hollow plate.(1) Iron ore tailing particles of the smaller particle size, particle accumulation structure more intensive, particle packing sound insulation performance of the hollow plate structure as a whole more excellent.(2) Iron ore tailings sand particles in the hollow plate in the fill rate is the structural factors that affect the sound insulation performance of the key. With the improvement of fill rates, sound insulation performance has improved significantly.(3) The moisture content is one of the important factors affecting the overall sound insulation performance of hollow plate filling particles. Corresponds to the sound insulation performance overall structure optimal point exist an optimal moisture content of 13.45%.4. By using the new method, the damping ratio of the particles in different materials is measured, The results show that the damping ratio lead and zinc mine(0.42)>powder(0.3)>iron oil tailings(0.23)= waste iron cake(0.23)>Waste rubber powder(0.22).
