Research On Automated Teller Machine Design Based On User Experience

In the era of experience economy,the traditional design is no longer able to meet the growing diverse needs of people.The automated teller machine has brought great convenience to people’s life,but it’s design is still in the stage of form follows function, it can’t meet the present experience demand of people already.Therefore, this paper combined the user experience with the automated teller machine design to research.Firstly, it studied the relevant contents about user experience and the design in detail,based on this it proposed user experience strategies of product and a quantitative evaluation model of user experience.It built the user experience application categories of automated teller machine starting from Three basic levels of the user experience needs. It put forward a method of process design for automated teller machine combined with product design methods.Secondly,it got three design factors including natural environments, user behaviors and use of space and six design requirements of automated teller machine including function first, safety first,focus system,concerns about aesthetics,sustainability and people-oriented through the studies of automated teller machine design situation.It analyzed the user experience problems of automated teller machine through field researches.It studied and researched theusers of automated teller machine by 312 online research questionnaires and 30 interviews,and it constructed the user-demand model of automated teller machine by dividing user requirements into basic functional requirements,hide functional requirements and non-functional requirements.By studying on the user experience application categories of automated teller machine,it got the sizes of automated teller machine and build the user’s thinking and behavior model,then it proposed the design principles of automated teller machine including user-center,consistency,rapid feedback and fault tolerance and help,and it gave some design suggestions on the functions,forms, styles and materials.Finally,it got the design scheme through the design practice and expected results after the evaluations,it verified the feasibility and practicality of automated teller machine user experience design process,providing a certain reference value for the user experience design of similar products.
