In order to realize “strong column weak beam†failure mode of RC frame structure,the frame with local slot in floor slab is proposed. In this kind of frame structure, slot which penetrate through slab is set along the beam plastic hinge, and slab reinforcements are not anchored in the beam. In this way, slab reinforcements alongside beam plastic hinge will not work together with frame beam, so that the increasement of beam-end flexural capacity by slab will be eliminated. For the sake of further investigation of frame with local slot in floor slab under earthquake, the shaking table test was carried out on the frame specimen. This research subject is supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China “Study on Seismic Performance of Frame with Local Slot in Floor Slabâ€(51368007).The main work of the dissertation is as follows:(1) Based on similarity theory, a 1/8 scale frame model with local slot in floor slab is designed and constructed, and shaking table test is carried out on the specimen. The test studies experimental phenomena, dynamic characteristics, dynamic response and failure mode of the specimen under different seismic waves and different seismic intensities. The results indicate that the frame with local slot in floor slab can dissipate seismic energy well, plastic hinges are mainly distributed in beam-end, and the failure mode is beam plastic hinge yielding mechanism. Furthermore, even the specimen is under severe earthquake which is more violent than the fortification earthquake, the frame is still stable and not collapsed.(2) The shaking table test finite element model is established in ABAQUS, and the numerical simulation analysis is carried out on the model. The result shows that the analytic results are in agreement with the experiment.(3) The traditional frame finite element model whose size, reinforcement ratio and working condition are the same with the shaking table test finite element model is established, and comparative analysis was carried out on the 2 models. The results show that the seismic performance of the frame with local slot in floor slab is better than that of the traditional frame.The analyses of this dissertation indicate that: traditional frame is difficult to realize beam hinge yielding mechanism under earthquake because it does not fully consider theinfluence of the slab and the longitudinal reinforcements in the slab; frame with local slot in floor slab is designed to eliminate the influence of the beam-end slab, which can improve the seismic performance of the frame structure and is beneficial to realize “strong column weak beam†failure mode of RC frame structure. What’s more, frame with local slot in floor slab meets the request of no collapse with strong earthquake. |
