Road traffic accident is one of most serious social disasters in the world. And because of this, the vehicle security system need higher reliability and accuracy. The occupant restraint system is due to the fact that it is the most important part of vehicle passive safety has attracted much attention.Vehicle safety airbag is the core component of occupant restraint system. Airbag dispute cases which whether detonated timely in the accident and whether it should be detonated in the state of no incident have increased quickly. Due to the lack of post-accident airbag detection standardized procedures and the legal regulations and laws about deal with the aftermath, it is difficult to identify the responsibility of the parties in the accident, the intervention of judicial and litigation about accident’s reparation is also hard to carry out. For these reasons, the research of the occupant restraint system especially for airbag is extremely urgent. Computer simulation technology has been more and more recognized in the analysis of collision accidents. This paper simulates the process of accident in use of simulation software Madymo to establish the traffic accident vehicle occupant restraint system model. On the basis of analyzed and summarized the number of injuries in the accident, it combined with accident data presented on feasibility settlement about airbag dispute cases in the accident. It provides a scientific basis for accident personnel to analysis and confirmation of responsibility fast and high-quality.In this paper, it is focus on basic theoretical research, data analysis, the occupant restraint system modeling and instance analysis four parts. On the basis of deep understanding of the occupant restraint system domestic and foreign research present situation, this research aim at frontal collision occupant restraint systems ‘s numerical simulation method and occupant collision damage mechanism, statistical analysis of the crash type of road traffic and personnel injury in recent years in Tianjin, provide a theoretical basis for the occupant restraint system modeling and simulating calculation. On the basis, this paper use multi-body dynamics simulation software MADYMO to establish accident vehicle occupant restraint system model and to simulation experiment. Modeling is mainly built of a car frontal crash of driver side dynamics analysis of multi-body model by MADYMO software, including the automotive cabin and a seat plane model, HybridⅢ50th dummy multi-body model, finite element model of the seat belt and airbag models. Finally, through simulation of real cases and analyze the driver’s dynamics response under frontal collision, test the results of this study. By comparing simulation results with accident collection information and medical jurisprudence expert’s conclusion multi-information at the site of accident, to verify rationality of the design of numerical model parameters and correctness of numerical methods in this paper, which reflects the real value of this article.
