The wide application of substation automation technology improves the modernization level of power grid construction, strengthen the capacity of power transmission and distribution, reducing the total cost of the substation construction. The technology of intelligent switch, electronic current voltage transformer, on-line condition monitoring of equipment, operation and training simulation of substation is becoming maturing, and the computer high speed network in real time system get a good development and application. Substation in information collection, transmission, processing all-digital direction of the construction of the power system with high reliability, easy expansion and maintenance and other advantages of digital substation is the necessity of the development of the power system.This paper introduce the present situation of 220 kV Dalang substation in Dongguan power grid, and design the system of the digital substation. Firstly, this paper investigate and survey the digital substation equipment of domestic and foreign equipment manufacturers. In third chapter, the use of electronic transformer and intelligent switch for the construction of digital substation is investigated and compared with the scheme, and he configuration scheme of transformer and intelligent switch in 220 k V Dalang substation is determined. And then, the paper analysis the system structure and network structure of digital substation, determine the network structure(SV,GOOSE,MMS) of 220 kV Dalang substation. And then, The system function of the substation is designed, such as the relay protection function, control function, signal acquisition and measurement function, electric energy metering function, etc. In fourth chapter, the technology and economic comparison of the digital substation scheme and the conventional station scheme are carried out.
