Because the structure of flat straight wall is lack of arching top, it could easily lead to the too high surface subsidence value during the excavation, and even the collapse. Therefore, learning the impact of the construction of flat tunnel shallow tunnel straight wall on ground surface settlement and pipelines, taking the effective measures to reduce the deformation for eliminating the damage on the roads, are an important task when facing the urban subway construction and have an important guiding significance for construction.Based on a large number of documents, a thorough analysis and summary about shallow-buried excavation are made, it included construction principle and scope of its application of shallow-buried excavation, and calculation methods of subsidence during construction of shallow-buried excavation and excavation footage calculations. With shallow-buried excavation of Beijing subway combined, construction technology of shallow-buried excavation and precautions during construction of shallow-buried excavation are described in detail. The main construction process about flat straight wall shallow-buried excavation, mechanism of surface subsidence caused by the construction of shallow-buried excavation, and the main factors affecting the size of the settlement amount are described. In the last of the article research is made on subsidence of ground surface and pipeline caused by the construction of flat straight wall shallow-buried excavation in the sand and gravel formations based on excavation works of DaWayao stations’ s entrances of Beijing Subway Line 14. According to the monitoring results of surface subsidence, the midas-gts software is used for numerical simulation analysis to conclude the main construction steps of affecting the settlement. And a comparative analysis is made on the results of monitoring. deformation law of simulation results and test results coincide, but there are some differences in values. This shows that there are some deficiencies to use the software to simulate the geotechnical engineering, but there is a certain significance.
