Recently, the reliability analysis, used widely in vehicle industry, has become one of the important means to ensure the quality of the vehicle. As the best isolation device of vibration in train system, the dual mass flywheel are widely used in various types of vehicle’s train system. So, it is important that apply reliability analysis to key components of dual mass flywheel.This thesis, supported with a project, applied relevant reliability analysis to flange plate and second wheel of dual mass flywheel. In this thesis, assumed that the heat produced by the working surface between the second flywheel and the friction plate were absorbed totally by the second flywheel and the friction plate, and gain the temperature field under 5 consecutive times separate and together in one time load condition. During the analysis, first, used the Pro-E software establish the three-dimensional model of second flywheel, and then establish the physical model of heat conduction according to the working situation of second flywheel, and then used Hypermesh software to mesh it and simulated in Abaqus software, acquired temperature distribution and thermal stress distribution of the second flywheel. Finally, applied thermal test for the second flywheel in the thermal shock test bench, verified the correctness of the finite element model; In addition, applied the static analysis and fatigue analysis for flange plate, first used Pro-E software to establish the 3D model of the flange plate, then through the Hypermesh software to mesh the model and applied the finite element analysis in the workbench software. In the process of analysis, the contact model of flange plate and rotating rivet were established, obtained the static stress distribution of flange plate at the maximum torque; Then, the fatigue analysis of flange plate, on the basis of static analysis, was applied in fatigue analysis software Ncode-Designlife. In the analysis, the S-N curve analysis method was applied to obtain the fatigue distribution of flange plate. Finally, the endurance in MTS torsion test rig of dual mass flywheel endurance test, and verified the accuracy of fatigue analysis which provides a theoretical basis for further optimization and improvement of flange.This thesis mainly applied reliability analysis to secondary flywheel and damping flange of dual mass flywheel, get the temperature distribution and thermal stress distribution of secondary flywheel and the stress distribution as well as fatigue distribution of the damping flange. The thesis get the location of the dangerous position and the stress and fatigue life of flange. The theoretical analysis result provide further optimization and improvement of the dual mass flywheel, and shorten the time for designing of the dual mass flywheel.
