The wind power integration of China’s grid has been increased year by year. At the same time, the randomness and volatility of wind power output has brought great pressure to the power peaking. Because of this, the traditional form of power peaking and scheduling is unable to meet the demand of the grid with new energy. Integrating the peaking resources of both supply side and demand side and carrying out the source-load power peaking measure are the new approach to improve the wind power integration. Therefore, research on source-load double time scale control strategy of large-scale wind power integration has important theoretical and practical significance.First of all, this paper subsequently elaborates the research status of the control strategy of the power grid with wind power both home and abroad. Several common wind turbines and wind farm group Structure are briefly introduced. And then, under different time scale, research on the wind farm’s output characteristic and the impact which the wind power integration brings to the power peaking has been done. In order to solve the power peaking problem resulted by wind power integration, this paper has analyzed the load characteristics of typical adjustable and interruptible high energy consumption load, and the established the peaking ability model of adjustable and interruptible load to excavate their peaking potential.Then, the general framework of source-load double time scale control strategy is set up in this paper. The control strategy is divided into two parts, one is day time level, and the other is hour time level. The former is based on the day time level wind power forecast, and tries to achieve the most wind power integration by arranging the day time level peaking plans of traditional units and high energy consumption load. The latter is based on the hour time level wind power forecast, and strives to reduce the deviation between the peaking plan and practical situation by repeatedly arranging the hour time level peaking plans of traditional units and high energy consumption load, which can reduce the peaking stress of the AGC units.Finally, Gansu grid is taken as an example to prove the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed source-load double time scale control strategy of large-scale wind power integration.
