With the increasing complexity of the power network, it is very urgent to improve the safety and reliability of the distribution network, and the key is to study the anti arc, line selection and location of distribution network. In this paper, the distribution network system and its single phase grounding fault is introduced, and then through the analysis of the principle of arc suppression, this paper puts forward the method of the distribution network bus automatically and quickly. When the distribution network has a single phase short-circuit fault, it can achieve the purpose of eliminating arc.The energy function value method of fault line selection is introduced in this paper. In order to improve the accuracy of line selection, the selection strategy based on energy function value method and wavelet analysis method is proposed. The positive and negative of the energy function value of the non fault line and the fault line and the wave amplitude and phase of the zero sequence current wavelet decomposition are obviously different. Using MATLAB modeling and simulation, it is shown by a lot of experiments, this paper proposes energy function value method and wavelet analysis combined with line selecting method is accurate and effective and fast, is not affected by the transition resistance, fault distance and phase. After the fault line is found by the method above, it is necessary to judge the fault location. Distribution does not systematically uniform cable line single-phase grounding fault location method is proposed in this paper, in the neutral point and fast switching system change is easy to study the high current grounding system, single-phase grounding fault resistance for purely resistive hypothesis, further assume zero sequence current distribution coefficient for real, pushing method is derived to calculate the fault distance. Using MATLAB software to simulate the algorithm in different locations of the line, the fault location accuracy of different transition resistance grounding. The simulation results show that the precision of the positioning results is very high under the condition of different transition resistance and fault distance.
